What is uBook?

Why not use your smart phone to book a Taxi/Private Hire vehicle with Aberdeen’s largest and most reliable taxi company Rainbow City Taxis.

No need to call, simply download uBook app, create your profile, tap the details of your pick up location etc and your booking is confirmed. All bookings are processed through Rainbow City Taxis booking and dispatch system which is the most advanced technology of its kind.

Each individual user of uBook will have the benefit of the most reliable and trusted service in Aberdeen.

For added security all drivers are licensed by Aberdeen City Council which ensures all drivers have passed the Aberdeen Street Knowledge Test and are Disclosure Scotland PVG vetted by Rainbow City Taxis.

Every vehicle is licensed and inspected by Aberdeen City Council Taxi Inspection Centre.

uBook is simplicity in itself, user friendly and with just a few taps on the uBook app is all that is required to book and track your vehicle, along with the added comfort that you will be supplied with the vehicle make, model, colour and registration before it arrives making sure that you are entering a vehicle supplied by Rainbow City Taxis.

No additional cost is associated with uBook, all journeys are metered and operate on the Aberdeen City Council Taxi Tariff.

uBook FAQ

What information do I need to book a taxi?

To book a taxi you must set up a profile. This ensures your details are available if the driver needs to request a callback or textback or if he or she requires your name.

Once you have entered your pick up and drop off you may now choose to “Book Now” or press the “Prebook” button to arrange your taxi for a set time. 

I cannot select my home address.

If your address isn’t correct press on the “Pick-Up” white box and you can search your address from there.

There is a section to “Add Note” before you book to give the driver any extra information.

How do I set my home address to be the default pick up?

In the “Favourites” section you can add different locations to save to make future bookings even simpler! 

How do I pay for the service?

All of our drivers accept cash, credit and debit card transactions within the vehicle.

How do I know if my booking was accepted?

Once you have pressed BOOK from the booking screen you will be presented with a “Trip Confirmed” message. Once your driver has been allocated your booking you will recieve a “Your driver is on the way” box which will show you the drivers location.

How do I know where my car is?

In the “Your Bookings” section you will be able to select your booking and when the driver has been allocated your booking there will be a live feed of his location.

How do I cancel a booking which I do not want?

If you go into “Your Bookings” Section and click on the journey you would like to cancel there is a button called “Cancel”

How many people can ride in your cars?
Each of our vehicles carry up to a maximum of 4 passengers
What should I do if I leave something in a car?
The best thing to do in this situation is to call our office immediately on 01224 878787.
Can I carry pets in one of your cars?
Some drivers do allow small pets, but most drivers inform the office if they allow pets in their cars. Please call the office on 01224 878787 and asking them for a pet friendly driver and vehicle.
Should I leave a tip for the driver?
Tipping a driver is optional and completely up to you. Drivers will always do their best to deliver you the best possible service, so if you think the driver deserves a tip then that is your decision.
What happens if my taxi does not arrive on time?

Always remember that at peak times such as rush hour and Friday and Saturday nights we are usually busier than normal. This can sometimes result in pick up times slipping. You can track your driver through the “Your Bookings”option from the app once the booking has been dispatched to a vehicle. If you require further information, please call the office on 01224 878787

Why can I not make a booking?
There are only a few reasons why you may not be able to make a booking with us. 1. We have maxed out how many bookings we can service and therefore have no cars available for an ASAP booking. You may still be able to arrange a pre booking for a later time. 2. Unfortunately, you are out of our pick up area. 3. If your phone does not have internet then the app will not be able to communicate with us. You may still book with us, please call us on 01224 878787.
